The Masters, more commonly known as Masters of Augusta, is one of the four major tournaments (also called majors) in the men's golf calendar and the first to be held every year. The final round takes place annually the weekend the second Sunday in April. Unlike other majors, the Masters has a permanent seat, the Augusta National Golf Club, a private golf club located in Augusta, Georgia, USA. The precursors of the tournament players were Bobby Jones and Clifford Roberts, who designed the field alongside the legendary designer Alister MacKenzie tours. Similar to other majors, winning the Masters gives the golfer who gets certain privileges: It is automatically invited to play the other three majors for the next five years, and get a lifetime invitation to play the Masters. It also becomes part of the PGA Tour and is invited to play the tournament The Players' over the next five years. In 2006, the budget for awards was $ 7 million. The most significant prize in the tournament, however, is the coveted "Green Jacket." Besides this prize, the tournament winner receives a gold medal and his name is engraved on the trophy for the Masters. This trophy, which represents the clubhouse, was first awarded in 1961 and remains in the club. Since 1993, a replica of the trophy is awarded to the winner in recognition. For its part, the finalist receives a silver medal, and since 1978, a silver tray. The Augusta Masters game follows the typical format, ie a distance of 72 shots in 18 holes to make four times over four days. The tournament is governed by rules issued by the Association of Golf of the United States "and by its own rules issued by the committee in charge of your organization. Because this event has a relatively smaller area than the rest of the tournament, the groups are formed with three players during the first 36 holes (the first two days, usually Thursday and Friday). After all the players make these holes, we proceed to make a cut, ie eliminating players who have made more than a specified number of strokes. Players who "make the cut" are chosen at least one of the following. The 44 players with the lowest number of strokes (including those players who are tied with the player with the worst score of 44). Those who have not made more than 10 strokes better than the best result, ie not implemented by 10 strokes more than the leader. Besides the cash prize, the winner of the tournament receives the green jacket, distinctive symbol of the tournament. This prize has been awarded since 1949 and is highly prized among golf professionals. This jacket is, indeed, the symbol of the club and its members typically used in the field. The winners keep the jacket during the year after his victory, and returned to the club in the next edition of the tournament. The tradition began in 1949, where Sam Snead won the tournament. Only the winner of each edition can remove the jacket golf club, after which he must return to the club. The only exception to this tradition occurred in 1962 when Gary Player, winner of the previous edition, did not return his jacket, despite the insistence of the club to do so.Tradition also dictates that the winner of the previous edition jacket impose the winner of the current edition. In 1966, Jack Nicklaus became the first player to win the tournament in consecutive years, so he donned his jacket. When Nick Faldo (1990) and Tiger Woods (2002) won the tournament also running, was the chairman of Augusta National Golf Club who imposed the jacket. One of the oldest golf courses in the world, the Old Course at St Andrews is a public path which is located in the town of St Andrews in Fife and is under the supervision of the Scottish Parliament. The headquarters of the Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St Andrews is located adjacent to an exit hole and seemed on his property, but there are several clubs who have the privilege of playing in this field. A first record length of this field dates back to 1552 and is a license that allowed the community to raise rabbits on the links and play golf, soccer and other hobbies. On the other hand, the first record of the game of golf at the Old Course for the year 1574. For this data the Old Course could be considered as the oldest course in Scotland. The route of the field has evolved through history, as the sport became more popular. It was originally played on a single street with a small number of holes, as the popularity of golf grew, the field was expanded: it included a second street, by increasing the size of the greens and two holes were shortened. In its early days the field had twelve holes, of which ten were played in both directions, making the field had a total of 22 holes. In 1764 is the year you decide to join the first four holes to form only two, making the field had a final number of 18 holes. The time that this would be the standard number of holes on a golf course. A peculiarity of this field is that the journey can be made in the direction of clockwise or counterclockwise. At present the official tour is played in the opposite direction of the clock, but is allowed in a single day of the year to tour the other way. Another unique feature of the Old Course is that it is closed on Sundays so that the "rest" and thus becomes a huge recreation park for the locals, who can stroll through the park, picnic, etc. Per club policy, there are only two Sundays in which we can play, these are the last day of the Dunhill Links Championship "tournament organized by the European Tour, and the final day of British Open, where the Open takes place at its headquarters course. Due to the long tradition of the field, winning the British major further enhances the prestige of the golfer.
