Sand Wedges

Izabal is a gateway to the sea that unlike the volcanic sand beaches, has several beauties of clear sand. Its natural wealth is amazing and has many ecotourism destinations. Located to the north east of Guatemala, about 3 hours away, is a destination visited by locals and foreigners for its natural diversity and wealth of places to visit. The beaches and water sports facilities is another of the attractions. Important archaeological features, including the most visited in the region is Quirigua. A place that preserved remains of buildings and a variety of Mayan stelae. The story itself in this place is awesome. Also there is the Castillo de San Felipe de Lara. It is a building time of the conquest and was a guardian of the input water. While much of this building (the roof for example) have been restored, preserving enough of the originality and worth joining. Inside the area (not the castle) will be easy to find local Caribbean that are dedicated to making all fine braided hair. The bridge crosses the Rio Dulce is under observation for earthquakes affecting its structure. However it is worth mentioning that the sunsets and sunrises especially when viewed from the bridge, are a sight to photograph. It has a large influx of visitors for being on the road to Tikal, Petén, one of the most visited by foreign and domestic. Izabal is a great place to spend the night on the long journey north, and alone is worth seeing for its tranquility and variety of natural sites that are part of the best photo collections.
