Iron Club Set

It happened to me several times stated that it had won every single one of the chain under the effect of a tiny little wave when there was no wind. If after the hook is removed from the channel the wind was rising, it would take everything that the windlass, hence my question, how do you stop the string: you let up, you hit on a stop passing between the two candlesticks from the balcony or you block a cleat through the outside balcony chandeliers. The shackle is made more secure but less convenient in my opinion an iron hand or hook. Necessary to rinse well and add WD40 often that the shackle is easy to use. - Rubber damper on this piece (small numbers important example. Min. 6 are also effective, but stronger than the big break that eventually). when wet (as usual long enough), we must take the chain with this bit. Eg. 2 m minimum. Although no wind the weight of the chain enough that the iron hand can not disengage, power, and this even if the small pin of the iron hand is no longer working (often jammed or broken even after many moorings). On some particularly unfavorable moorings (swell "vicious", tidal currents, wind direction or changing winds so strong) I happened to provide the chain with a shorter second piece on the bridge with a second hand iron, a shackle or just a quick bump node, because it is best avoided as it may pull on the windlass, especially if seatrout!. Easy on a small boat but more difficult with a string of 12 or even 10 .. As mentioned above by Alacaluf, ensuring the chain with one end or hawser, a bump on the node string and the other end hit a cleat or cock. much faster and easier and more particularly clean (if rust) that manipulate the string.
