World-class tourist destination located in the northwest of the State of Guerrero, Mexico. It has an enviably consistent climate throughout the year as well as attractions and services to make your visit unforgettable. The two golf courses in Ixtapa-class tropical destination make this a paradise for lovers of the sport. Both have 18 holes and are at opposite ends of the Hotel Zone, five minutes from each other by taxi. Zihuatanejo is just 10 minutes. Both are known for their custom caddy service and personnel. Club de Golf Marina Ixtapa was designed by Robert von Hagge and opened in January 1994 as part of a multi-million Marina Ixtapa. Palma Real Golf Course was designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr. in 1977 as a key element of the Master Plan FONATUR whereby Ixtapa was designed and developed as a modern tourist destination and created this course in a grove of coconut palms . Both fields are in excellent state of maintenance. As a result of ecological vocation of the Master Plan, an elaborate irrigation system takes oxygenated purified water and a sewage treatment plant of high technology. The sprinkler system spread over both fields, as well as the beautiful and extensive landscaping in Ixtapa, keep the area green and full of flora and while the water is recycled through the ground naturally. Robert von Hagge, famous as the creator of some of the most prominent golf courses in the world, designed this area of 6793 yards, par 72 undulating channels, 12 bridges and topography reminiscent of sand dunes. The land covers 136 acres, with large bunkers, small ponds guarding 14 of the 18 holes. There is no doubt why Golf Digest magazine has ranked among the best in Mexico. The Clubhouse, Mediterranean architecture, features a restaurant and sitting areas with balconies and panoramic windows that look towards the marina and golf course. First hole, par 5, and probably his best chance to make birdie, so prepare your best "swing" because any other birdie will be much harder to achieve. Hole 4: Par 4. You need to be very precise and there is water all over the mounds on the right and left side. An approach shot to a green well protected is equally difficult. Hole 9: Par 4, Is water from tee to green on the left and right bunkers to catch errant shots. To get to the green requires an approach shot to cross the vast lake that has alligators residents. Do not eat the players, but like to watch the game while taking the sun, so bring your camera. Hole 12: par 4, long enough and with a pronounced curvature to the right. On the left is "out" and right the jungle, this is definitely a difficult throw. The approach shot must go through a highly elevated green surrounded by sand. Hole 16: par 4, Long sharply curved to the left, and cause further complications, no water from tee to green on the left. He is also the beginning of a very difficult closing with the last three holes. Hole 18: par 5, locally known as the Devil's Hole. With 609 yards, is probably one of the most difficult par 5 that plays ever. There is water from tee to green on the left and a series of bunkers around the right side, all this leads to a very narrow green surrounded by water and sand left from the right. Making par here is really something to brag about. A superb original designs of Robert Trent Jones Jr., this field of 6.898 yards, par 72, harmonizes with its surroundings, which in effect was a grove of coconut palms. The site retains its natural lagoons and lush tropical vegetation on one side of the scenic Pacific coast. The Sierra Madre del Sur provides a unique mountain ranges. The players not only enjoy the best of golf but also a closeness with nature. Different types of palm trees surrounding the field, and mango trees, guava, lemon, orange and almond. Brightly colored flowers accentuate the exuberant vegetation. Mexican and international environmentalists have considered these areas as an ecological reserve. Golfers can see and hear a variety of exotic birds like parakeets, parrots, cardinals, and a rare and unique species of eagle known fisherman because it feeds exclusively on fish in the lake. Those who can be seen, but not heard are the rabbits and the "giant iguanas." Do not try to steal balls from the ponds of water because of crocodiles living in some of them. Normally lie submerged and hidden, however, does wander around at dawn. Hole 4: Par 5. The green is to a lake and is surrounded by bunkers, so it requires a very precise hit to attain it. One shot too long carried the ball to the lake inhabited by crocodiles native. 5th hole (par 4) and Hole 6 (par 3): Both are bounded on one side by a lake and across the forest, so the shots are basic rights. Hole 15: par 4. It is relatively short (350 yards), however, requires a tee shot 200 yards to rid the pond which empties into the Pacific. The second shot to the green, usually achieved with a short iron number 9 should be as straight as a laser beam to avoid the beach or the ocean to the left. The view from this hole is extraordinary, an overview of Ixtapa Beach Hotel Zone and all along the length of the wide white sand Playa El Palmar. Hole 16: Par 3: It's spectacular from tee to green, all its extension is bordered by a lake. The green is guarded by water on one side and other sand. It requires the utmost precision. Zihuatanejo is a fishing port centenary sheltered by the beautiful Bay of Zihuatanejo, retains the charm of old Mexico. Only ten minutes (6 kilómetros/3.7 miles) up the coast, Ixtapa is a modern world-class destination. Together they form a tropical destination that offers diversity, nature, tranquility and impeccable. Zihuatanejo hotels are smaller. There are from budget (center, on the beach or close to it) to large luxury properties located in Playa La Ropa or warehouse overlooking the Bay. Most of Ixtapa hotels are located in the Hotel Zone of Playa El Palmar (across the street where the shopping malls are). However, three more are in the hotel zone III to the area of Playa Linda. Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo destination remains a comfortably small. It is relatively unique compared to most major destinations because most major hotels are beachfront properties and high quality. ..
